Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Statement

Buckworths is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain and imposes the same high standards on its suppliers. We understand the importance of these issues and stand against the abuses and misery of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Organisation Structure

Buckworths Limited is a limited company incorporated in England with registered number 7541905 and registered address at 2nd Floor, 1-3 Worship Street, London, EC2A 2AB, United Kingdom. It is a body recognised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority in the UK with registered number 559537. The firm has 9 employees.

Whilst our annual turnover is below the threshold for mandatory publication of our statement, we have chosen to comply as we consider this to be best practice and in line with our values as an employer and service provider.

In order to perform our multi-sector legal services, we work with a range of suppliers and we take steps to ensure that those suppliers share our values and have in place measures to safeguard human rights and to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.

Policies

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

Risk and Compliance

Buckworths regularly evaluates the nature and extent of its exposure to the risk of modern slavery occurring in its supply chain by reviewing its internal anti money laundering, compliance and risk assessment policies. We also carry out robust anti money laundering and pre-employment checks.

Whilst we do not consider that we operate in high risk sectors or locations, we know that modern slavery and human trafficking can take place anywhere and we must remain vigilant across our areas of practice and our services.

Further Steps and Approval

We have reviewed our actions this financial year to prevent slavery or human trafficking from occurring in our business or supply chains. We will continue to monitor, to educate and remain completely committed to taking further steps to tackle slavery and human trafficking.

This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Buckworths’ slavery and human trafficking statement.
